ARE YOU SEEKING A TENANT WHILE ON SABBATICAL?
- Short-term Rental: While University Hills homes must remain one’s primary residence, owners are permitted to rent their housing unit on a short-term basis for a lease term no longer than 12 months (short-term rentals may be made for more than one lease term to different tenants, up to a maximum of 13 months in any three-year period).
- Long-term Rental: University Hills owners are permitted to rent their housing unit on a long-term basis while on University-approved sabbatical or leave for a maximum of two years.
- For all rentals, short-or long-term, owners are to first seek a UC faculty or staff member as their tenant. Irvine Campus Housing Authority (ICHA) maintains a waitlist of faculty and staff seeking a rental opportunity in University Hills.
- Except for rentals less than thirty (30) days, owners must notify ICHA of the rental/tenant information.

- If your plans to rent your home change and you no longer wish to be contacted with potential tenants, please contact ICHA at sales@icha.uci.edu or (949) 824-7345.
ARE YOU SEEKING TEMPORARY HOUSING IN UNIVERSITY HILLS?
- While ICHA cannot guarantee rental matches, ICHA assists UCI faculty and staff in their efforts to secure temporary housing in University Hills by maintaining a list of homeowners who are renting their home while away from the University on sabbatical.
- Please complete the Sabbatical Rental Application form to join the Sabbatical Rental waitlist. Once ICHA receives the application, we will email you sabbatical listing information as it becomes available. You will be provided with the information to contact the owner directly. Please note that ICHA does not set the homeowner’s rental price or terms and has not inspected these accommodations.
- If you find a rental or your plans change and you no longer wish to receive listing information, please contact ICHA at sales@icha.uci.edu or (949) 824-7345 to remove your name from the Sabbatical Rental waitlist.
